If you are applying from Nigeria for a job in the Netherlands, the website you use is only the beginning. The real question is whether the employer can and will sponsor the correct Dutch work and residence permit.
This guide explains 10 useful websites for finding jobs in the Netherlands, how to identify an IND-recognised sponsor, the 2026 salary rules and the claims you should not accept at face value. The portals are genuine job-search resources, but not every vacancy on them includes visa sponsorship.

Quick answer: for the highly skilled migrant route, you normally need a Dutch employment contract, an employer recognised by the Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND), a market-rate salary and the applicable income threshold. The employer—not the candidate—submits the highly skilled migrant application.
First, correct these viral Netherlands visa claims
The Netherlands is internationally oriented and English is widely spoken, but English ability does not give anyone the right to work. Some international employers operate in English; many customer-facing, healthcare, government and local-company roles still require Dutch.
“The visa is processed in two to four weeks”
This is possible in some recognised-sponsor cases, but it is not a guarantee. The IND says it tries to decide recognised-sponsor applications within two weeks, or seven weeks in some cases where a work permit is needed. The legal decision period for a highly skilled migrant application is 90 days. Missing documents or additional checks can extend the practical timeline.
“No degree, language test or points are needed”
The Dutch highly skilled migrant scheme is not a points-based programme, and the IND requirements focus on the recognised sponsor, employment contract, salary threshold and market-rate pay. The permit page does not state a universal degree requirement for this route. However, employers can demand a degree, regulated professions require recognition or licensing, and other permits such as the European Blue Card have different rules.
A highly skilled migrant permit is also treated as a temporary purpose under the Civic Integration Act, so an overseas civic-integration exam is generally not required for that purpose. That does not mean Dutch is irrelevant to hiring.
“Thirty per cent of your salary is tax-free for five years”
The expat scheme—often called the 30% ruling—is conditional, not automatic. The employee must be recruited from abroad, meet the expertise and salary conditions, satisfy the distance test and receive an approval decision with the employer. In 2026 an eligible employer can pay up to 30% tax-free under the facility; the official business portal says the maximum becomes 27% from 2027. “Up to” is important: it is not an extra 30% added to every salary.
“Your spouse can work from day one”
A partner of a highly skilled migrant can be free to work without a separate work permit after receiving the appropriate partner residence permit. The IND partner-permit guidance says the residence card should show the holder’s labour-market rights. Your partner still needs the correct immigration approval and residence document; marriage alone is not work authorisation.
What the 2026 highly skilled migrant route requires
According to the official IND highly skilled migrant page, the core requirements include a contract with a Dutch employer or research institution that is an IND-recognised sponsor, the relevant income threshold and salary that is in line with the market rate.
For 2026, the published gross monthly salary thresholds excluding holiday allowance are:
- €5,942 for highly skilled migrants aged 30 or older;
- €4,357 for highly skilled migrants younger than 30;
- €3,122 under the reduced criterion for eligible orientation-year graduates and related cases.
These figures change, so always check the IND income requirements on the day the employer applies. A vacancy saying “relocation available” is not enough if the salary and sponsorship requirements do not fit.
10 websites to find Netherlands visa-sponsorship opportunities
1. IND Public Register of Recognised Sponsors
This is the most important verification tool on the list, even though it is not a traditional job board. Search the exact legal name of a prospective employer. The register is updated monthly and confirms whether the organisation is recognised for work sponsorship. Being listed does not prove that every vacancy is open to overseas candidates, so use the company’s careers page next.
2. Undutchables
Undutchables specialises in multilingual and international talent. It is useful for customer success, sales, finance, operations, supply chain, project and technical roles. Read each vacancy carefully: “international” or “English-speaking” does not automatically mean the employer will sponsor a non-EU applicant. The agency also publishes scam warnings—never pay a recruiter for a job.
3. IamExpat Jobs
iamexpat.nl/career/jobs-netherlands
IamExpat combines English-language vacancies with practical information for internationals. Filter by city and discipline, then search the description for “visa sponsorship,” “highly skilled migrant,” “recognised sponsor,” “relocation” or “kennismigrant.” Confirm the employing company—not merely the recruitment brand—against the IND register.
4. Together Abroad
This portal focuses on multilingual and international candidates and lets users search by field and language. It can be especially useful for IT, engineering, finance, logistics, sales, customer support and international business. Sponsorship is vacancy-specific, so ask the recruiter directly before investing heavily in an application.
5. Werk.nl
Werk.nl is connected to UWV, the Dutch public employment service. It offers broad labour-market and vacancy resources, but much of the interface and many jobs are in Dutch. Use translation tools where necessary and do not assume that a role found here accepts applicants who need sponsorship.
6. VisaList NL
Proof of funds checker — know your exact bank balance target
Country-by-country requirements, updated regularly.
VisaList NL is a private search and discovery platform that organises recognised-sponsor and hiring information. It can reduce the time spent matching company names to careers pages. Treat it as a convenience layer, not the authority: recheck every employer in the IND’s own public register before applying or sharing documents.
7. Welcome to NL
Welcome to NL is commissioned by the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and provides information for international talent, employers and newcomers. Use its working, immigration and relocation resources to understand the market and locate regional talent initiatives. It is especially useful as a research hub alongside direct employer applications.
8. Randstad Netherlands
Randstad is a major staffing agency with vacancies across logistics, engineering, administration, finance, customer service, healthcare and technology. Many listings are intended for people already authorised to work locally. Search carefully, check the language requirement and ask whether the end employer sponsors highly skilled migrants.
9. Hays Netherlands
Hays is useful for professional and specialist roles in areas such as technology, engineering, finance, life sciences, supply chain and construction. Recruiters can clarify whether a client accepts overseas applicants, but sponsorship depends on the actual employer, salary and permit route.
10. LinkedIn Jobs and Indeed Netherlands
LinkedIn Jobs and Indeed Netherlands
These large platforms have the widest variety of openings and direct employer pages. Useful search phrases include “visa sponsorship Netherlands,” “IND recognised sponsor,” “relocation Netherlands,” “highly skilled migrant,” “kennismigrant,” and your job title plus “English.” Set alerts, but avoid mass-applying without checking the sponsor and salary.

How to find a sponsor without wasting applications
- Choose realistic roles. Target jobs close to your strongest experience, especially where the salary can meet the applicable threshold.
- Build a sponsor shortlist. Use the IND register, then open each company’s careers page and LinkedIn profile.
- Search with Dutch visa vocabulary. Add “kennismigrant,” “erkend referent,” “relocation” and “visa sponsorship” to your searches.
- Read the eligibility line first. If a vacancy says “must already have the right to work in the Netherlands,” it probably does not sponsor.
- Tailor your CV. Use a clean two-page CV with a strong profile, measurable results, relevant tools and no unnecessary personal details.
- Write a focused motivation letter. A Dutch motivatiebrief should explain why this employer, why this role and what evidence shows you can solve its problem.
- State sponsorship clearly. Do not pretend you already have work rights. Say that you require highly skilled migrant sponsorship and that you understand the employer-led process.
- Verify before sending sensitive documents. Check the domain, recruiter identity and employer registration. Read our guide on how to spot a fake visa-sponsorship job offer.
A practical application message
Hello [Name], I am a [job title] with [number] years of experience in [specialism]. In my current role, I [one measurable achievement]. I am interested in the [role] position because [specific reason]. I currently live in Nigeria and would require sponsorship under an appropriate Dutch work route. I noticed that [company legal name] appears in the IND recognised-sponsor register. May I confirm whether this vacancy is open to qualified candidates applying from outside the EU?
Keep it short and accurate. Do not claim the company sponsors simply because a similarly named business appears on a third-party list.
What happens after you receive an offer?
For the highly skilled migrant route, the recognised employer normally submits the application for the residence permit and, where required, the MVV entry visa. The IND checks the contract, sponsor, salary and other conditions. After a positive decision, a Nigerian applicant follows the instructions in the decision letter.
NetherlandsWorldwide says Nigerian applicants instructed to collect an MVV in Nigeria apply at the Dutch consulate-general in Lagos. A highly skilled migrant should mention the employment start date when requesting the appointment. Do not book non-refundable travel until the official process allows it.
Common mistakes that lead to rejection or silence
- Applying to jobs far below the skilled-migrant salary threshold.
- Confusing an English-speaking vacancy with a sponsorship vacancy.
- Using one generic CV and cover letter for every employer.
- Listing duties instead of measurable achievements.
- Ignoring Dutch-language requirements in regulated or public-facing roles.
- Paying someone for a “guaranteed” offer, sponsorship certificate or embassy slot.
- Sending passport scans before verifying the employer and recruiter.
- Assuming a recruitment agency itself will be the legal sponsor.

Frequently asked questions
Can I get a Netherlands sponsored job without a degree?
The highly skilled migrant permit page does not impose a universal degree requirement, but the employer, occupation or another visa route may. Your job must still meet the sponsor, salary and market-rate conditions. Regulated professions can require formal recognition.
Do I need to speak Dutch?
Not every international role requires Dutch, and the highly skilled migrant route is not based on a Dutch-language points test. However, Dutch substantially expands your options and may be compulsory in healthcare, education, public service and customer-facing work.
Can any Dutch company sponsor me?
Only an IND-recognised sponsor can use the national highly skilled migrant procedure. Other work routes have different employer and permit rules. Always check the exact legal company name in the official register.
How long does the application take?
The IND targets about two weeks for many complete recognised-sponsor applications, but this is not guaranteed and some cases target seven weeks. The statutory decision period for highly skilled migrant applications is 90 days.
Can my partner work?
A partner holding the appropriate residence permit as the family member of a highly skilled migrant is generally free to work without a TWV. Confirm the endorsement on the partner’s residence card and the current IND conditions.
Final checklist
Before applying, confirm the employer in the IND register, compare the salary with the current threshold, tailor your CV and motivation letter, state your sponsorship need honestly and verify every contact. Job portals create leads; careful research turns them into realistic applications.
